The delusions of corporate life’s wonderfulness has expired in two corporate wageslave’s within Ares Corporation. For both this was an hard decision made over years of working and questioning of the prison they called Ares. Enough is enough. It is time to split. The question remaining is how to pull it off and what and who to bring with them.
Decking late one night, Victor Sterling found himself testing some new programs he developed on some Ares corporate files a young self proclaimed Decker discovers one of his classmates, Richard Wallace, and pseudo friends back at the Ares educational institute was in serious trouble. Well technically his father was in trouble but a quick search told him that the Code Sigma Nine would ruin the whole family and having his own issues with the corp he just had to share the bad news before the code was received by security the next morning. The Wallace family was about to disappear in a not so pleasant way. His friend would have to make a run for it which worked out for him because he too had decided it was time to leave.
Victor sent Richard a quick message and they meet up across the street at a late night matrix cafe. Richard is obviously shocked and after getting all the details he rushes out to tell his family. His father and mom don’t buy his tale. His younger sister takes her parents view and leaves to head out to a concert. Unable to convince them he heads back to Victor and they begin coming up with a plan.
Richard reaches out to a friend of his on the street, a troll he met at a corner comic gaming shop.
Having talked with his gang member friend and meeting up with Victor again the trio plot their great escape. The gang will help them escape and vanish, but in exchange they want some gear from the corp. After some heavy negotiating they settle on two bikes that Victor and Richard will use to escape and ride off into the sunset.
Victor arranges for the motorcycles to be prepped and authorized from with Ares Corp and then quickly erases any traces of his tampering with corporate logs. He then packs up the few items of importance to him including a gun that belong to his mother. He casually , or at least trying to look as casual as he can as his nerves are racked , makes his way to the auto yard to pick up his “rented” bike just as they are being offloaded out of storage and fueled up.
Richard makes one last pleading attempt with his parents and then slips out grabbing a few things. He visits the security arsenal and picks up a trusty revolver and a box of ammo. He then makes his way to the auto yard and joins Victor. Both looking a little nervous, but they make it through all the paperwork and annoying corporate bureaucracy. By the end they feel even more strongly about their desire to escape and be free. Even if that freedom comes at a bigger price of their safety and comfort. They flee the complex and are in such a hurry that they miss the security guards enabling some built-in tracking systems on the two bikes.
The two ride off and meet up with Richard’s ganger friend who puts Richard back in touch with his long lost Rigger Van. The three stow the motorcycles in an empty warehouse and make their way to find and intercept Richard’s kid sister. They end up having to drug and kidnap her. In case she wakes up and before Richard can talk to her they bind his sister to the van. As they stow her in the back of the van they also discover another stow away. An elf and member of the gang is passed out in the back of the van. Two of the gang members ride off on the motorcycles and leave Victor, Richard, and Richard’s sister in the warehouse to hid them. It is agreed upon that they will remain their until the next day.
